School Cabinet oath-taking ceremony, "Sankalp 2023-24, Crowning the future leaders”

The School Cabinet oath-taking ceremony, "Sankalp 2023-24, Crowning the future leaders” of SFS ICSE School Koppal, was held on 14-06-2023 in the school quadrangle. We were honored to have Mr. Santosh Hallur, the Police Inspector of Town Police Station Koppal, as our chief guest. The chief guest, accompanied by our principal, Rev. Fr. Jabamalai, and our administrator, Rev. Fr. Matthew, was warmly welcomed by the girls at the entrance. They were then led to the quadrangle by the school band, creating a surreal scene.

The ceremony, masterfully conducted by Ganiya Varma as the Master of Ceremony, began with a melodious prayer song. Then, Advika took the stage and delivered a warm welcome speech, introducing our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh, who was greeted with a flower bouquet presented by Mrs. Rani. Rev. Fr. Jabamalai and Rev. Fr. Matthew were also welcomed with flower bouquets. The guests of honor, along with all the House captains and vice-captains, lit the ceremonial lamp. Subsequently, the chief guest hoisted the school flag, accompanied by the school anthem, filling the air with a sense of pride for our institution.

Next, the Chief Guest bestowed the sash, badge, and flag upon the newly elected school cabinet. The cabinet members marched onto the stage, gracefully kneeling with one leg down as they received their sash, badge, and flag. Symbolically, the outgoing cabinet members passed their responsibilities to the new members by handing over the respective flags. Following this, the new school cabinet took their oath, led by Fr. Jabamalai, with each member repeating the oath after him.

A beautiful march past was then performed by each house, led by their respective house captain and vice-captains. The school head boy and head girl headed the march past, creating an impressive spectacle.

Subsequently, the chief guest addressed the gathering, expressing his admiration for the event's organization and the flawless execution of the march past. He emphasized the significance of discipline in life, citing the impeccable display of discipline and accuracy by the young participants. He believed that discipline is the cornerstone of future leadership and emphasized “ಪಾಠ ಮತ್ತು ಆಟ” the importance of balancing academic pursuits with outdoor activities for holistic development. Furthermore, he spoke about traffic rules and safety, inviting the school children to visit the police station and learn about the workings of the police and various aspects related to law and order.

Our Principal then presented the chief guest with a shawl and memento as tokens of appreciation. This was followed by a captivating dance performance by the school children, leaving everyone impressed. Rev. Fr. Jabamalai addressed the gathering, commending the students for their hard work in making the program a resounding success. He praised their ability to absorb and demonstrate what was taught to them in such a short time. Additionally, he spoke about the virtues of a good leader, emphasizing qualities such as vision & aim, self-sacrifice, hard work, commitment, being a good listener, and effective communicator. He urged the children to embrace these traits in order to become exceptional leaders.

The former school parliament members were felicitated by the guests of honor, who presented them with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding service. Following this, Suketh delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the individuals who contributed to the success of the event.

Finally, the national anthem was sung, uniting everyone in a patriotic spirit.
