Teachers Orientation Program 2022-23

The Teachers Orientation Program conducted on May 25, 2023, at SFS ICSE School in Koppal was a highly successful and impactful event. The program, led by Fr. William Marcel Rodrigues, aimed to equip the staff with valuable knowledge and foster a sense of unity among them. It was attended by Fr. Jabamalai (Principal of SFS ICSE School Koppal), Fr. Jojo (Principal Of SFS High School), teachers of SFS ICSE and SFS High School Koppal.

The program began with the staff members being divided into ten groups, promoting interaction and collaboration. Each participant introduced themselves and shared two areas in which they excelled, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere. In the second each member identified and shared two commendable qualities about every other member. This exercise fostered teamwork, mutual understanding, and appreciation among the staff.

A game was then conducted to develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. The groups were given a cut-out paper and instructed to arrange it into a perfect square, requiring collaboration and adaptability. The subsequent discussions made participants think about how working together, being flexible, and communicating effectively are crucial for achieving shared objectives.

In the second part of the program, Fr. William Marcel Rodrigues delivered a thought-provoking session on the effects of media in today's world. He explored the concepts of white propaganda and black propaganda, enlightening the staff about media manipulation and its impact on society. Fr. William encouraged participants to critically analyse information by contemplating the question, "Who says what, where to, whom, with what effect?" This inquiry helped the staff become more critical in consuming media and grasp its impact on public opinions.

The meticulous planning and execution of the program were attributed to Father Jabamalai, the newly appointed Principal of ICSE School, along with the non-teaching staff and Teacher Coordinators. Their dedication ensured that every aspect of the program was thoughtfully organized, leading to a seamless and enriching experience for all participants.

The Teachers Orientation Program not only enhanced professional growth but also fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose among the staff. Fr. William's session on media literacy provided valuable insights into the importance of critical analysis when consuming news and information. Participants engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing their perspectives and concerns regarding media influence in classrooms and society.

In conclusion, the Teachers Orientation Program at SFS ICSE School in Koppal was a well-planned and insightful event. The program facilitated the development of personal and professional skills among the staff, allowing them to better serve their students.
