The inauguration ceremony Vivaan for the Kindergarten academic year 2023-24 was held on June
12, 2023, in the school quadrangle. We were honored to have esteemed guests, Harish Jogi and
Savitri Mujumdar, with us. Harish Jogi serves as a UNICEF program manager DC office Koppal, and
Savitri Mujumdar serves as the Secretary of the Karnataka Association of Women Writers and the
President of the Akhila Bharat Shavana Sahitya Parishad. The Kindergarten students warmly
welcomed the guests of honor, accompanied by a traditional aarati, followed by an escort to the
school quadrangle by the welcoming girls.
Mrs. Sarvani introduced Vivaan to the gathering, which was followed by a mesmerizing prayer dance
performed by 10th-grade girls. The welcome speech was given by the UKG students, along with Mrs.
Maria. The ceremonial lamp was then lit by the guests of honor and the principal council.
Mr. Harish Jogi, our chief guest, delivered an insightful address to the gathering. He emphasized the
vital role parents play as role models for their children. He illustrated the impact of simple actions,
such as reducing TV time and encouraging children to focus on studies, on the developing minds of
young ones. He also shared a practical exercise that parents could adopt to fill themselves with
positive energy, which would ultimately radiate to their children and those around them.
Following this, Mrs. Savitri Mujumdar addressed the audience. She commended our principal, Fr.
Jabamalai, for his transformative initiatives and the excellent facilities provided to the students. Mrs.
Mujumdar encouraged parents not to pressure their children but instead to nurture them into
model students through careful guidance and unwavering support. She stressed the importance of
showering children with love and affection, understanding their behaviors, and molding them
accordingly. Additionally, she urged working parents to allocate sufficient time to spend with their
children, while all parents were encouraged to be sacrificial role models for their kids.
The UKG students then eloquently described our esteemed institution, SFS ICSE Koppal, through
heartfelt speeches. Rev. Fr. Dr. Jabamalai, our principal, took the stage to address the gathering. He
urged parents to foster qualities of good character in their children, as he believed this to be the
foundation for academic excellence. As an expression of his message, he led the audience in singing
the inspiring song "Shalege hoguvenu nanna guri muttuva tanaka," which instills in students the
habit of attending school, fostering social and intellectual growth, and ultimately achieving their
goals in life. As a token of gratitude, the guests of honor were presented with shawls and mementos.
The UKG students concluded the ceremony with a heartfelt vote of thanks, followed by the national
anthem. To further support parents in their important role, a small seminar was conducted by the
guests of honor, providing valuable insights and guidance on effectively guiding and nurturing young
children.
